Every year we venture to a wonderful place known as Barkley Sound. It is located on the West Coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia. The main areas of diving will be the Broken, Deer and Chain Group Islands. Each area is rich in colorful marine life from Wolfeels, Octopus, huge Lingcod, Rock Scallops the size of dinner plates, Purple Ringed Top Snails, Sea lions and even the rare Six Gilled Shark. Barkley Sound is known for it's easy diving as there is generally little current to contend with. There are also a couple of shipwrecks in the area, one is the Vanlene, a freighter that sank in 1972 and the Thiepval, a naval patrol ship that sank in 1930. The M.V. Rendezvous is a 36-Ft custom dive boat with easy entry and exit, with full head and galley. Rendezvous lodge is located on the steep side of a mountain in Rainy Bay, right on the water. This makes for great waterfront dining and spectacular sunsets from the hot tub! Your trip will include three days of diving for a total of eight dives, accommodations, meals, tanks and air fills. Everyone is responsible for getting themselves to Port Alberni, we will try and carpool to keep gas and ferry fees down.
