Hornby Island is a small island located off the East Coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia. The waters around Hornby Island are full of a rich variety of marine life. In any season, you can encounter Giant Pacific octopus, Wolfeels, Harbor Seals, large Lingcod and Rockfish, colorful Anemones and Nudibranchs. In winter, Steller’s and California sea lions gather in the area to feed on huge schools of herring. Good visibility and gentle currents make the Hornby Island area easy to dive. Hornby Island is renowned for its scenic rural vistas, beautiful beaches, and mild, pleasant climate. Hornby is full of possibilities…as beautiful above the water as it is below. The dive boat is a 35’ aluminum custom built boat with swinging exit door and stable ladder. The dive lodge is bright and spacious with lots of sky lights and great views of the ocean, mountains and sunsets. Warm up after diving in the toasty dry sauna! Your trip includes 3 days of diving, 6 dives total plus shore diving, accommodations, meals, tanks and air fills. Everyone is responsible for getting themselves to Hornby Island. We will try to carpool to keep gas and ferry fees down.
