Every year we venture to a wonderful place known as Barkley Sound, located on the West Coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia. This area is rich in colorful marine life from Wolfeels, Octopus, huge Lingcod, Rock Scallops the size of dinner plates, Purple Ringed Top Snails, Sea lions and even the rare Six Gilled Shark. Barkley Sound is known for its easy diving as there is generally little current to contend with. There is plenty of wildlife to see above the water as well.
Whales, sea lions, eagles, and bears are often seen from the lodge and from the boat in between dives. The M.V. Rendezvous is a 36-Ft custom dive boat with easy entry and exit, with full head and galley. Rendezvous lodge is located on the steep side of a mountain in Rainy Bay, right on the water. This makes for great waterfront dining and spectacular sunsets from the hot tub! Your trip will include either three or four days of diving, accommodations (shared room), meals, tanks and air fills (nitrox is available). Everyone is responsible for getting themselves to Port Alberni, we will try to carpool to keep gas and ferry fees down. There are only nine spots available on this trip, so get your deposit in early. This trip sells out every time.
Requirements: Each diver must have been diving within the last 60 days and have cold water diving experience with a minimum of 30 logged dives. You will need all dive equipment, which includes a BC, safe second, dive computer, safety sausage w/finger spool & whistle. Dive accident insurance (DAN/DiveAssure) is REQUIRED.
A $750 non-refundable/non-transferable deposit saves your spot and a contract must be signed. Trip must be paid in full 60 days before departure date. There are no refunds after the full payment unless you find someone to take your spot.
A $5 a day fuel surcharge will be added if the price of fuel increases. You will pay at the lodge if implemented.
